Fondation Valmont

Since its foundation in 2015, Fondation Valmont, nestled in the intimate Palazzo Bonvicini in Venice, cradle of the Storie Veneziane perfumes, has established itself as a disruptive force in contemporary art. Didier Guillon, its founder, envisioned this space as a sanctuary for art in all its forms. A cocoon where artists can express themselves freely, where visitors are invited to immerse themselves in a world of emotions and beauty. Its mission? To promote contemporary art, foster intercultural dialogues, and challenge artistic conventions. This vision is now perpetuated by Maxence Guillon, who has been ensuring the continuity of this family mission alongside his father since 2022. But Fondation Valmont does not merely exhibit artworks; it creates unique artistic moments. Through travelling exhibitions like the one’s exposing Mr. Guillon’s iconic IVO and shows in Venice such as Ego, it defies traditional artistic circuits. More than 300 artworks have been presented, and more than thirty artists have collaborated with Fondation Valmont, bringing diversity and richness to the contemporary art scene. Journeys like these, invite the individual to discover new perspectives and allow themselves to be moved.

If Fondation Valmont were a painting, it would probably be a canvas in perpetual evolution, capturing the essence of art and beauty in a play of perspectives oriented towards the future. It would invite you to rethink your relationship with art and nature, to appreciate each moment, and to find well-being in simplicity and authenticity. From this living fresco, you will discover a haven where every detail matters, a call to feel at home. A world nourished by dreams and desires, offering a glimpse of… an enchanting future.

Didier Guillon is a French Swiss entrepreneur, curator, philanthropist, art collector and artist. He is the Chairman and Art Director of the Valmont Group since 1990. He is inspired by artists and creations selected and sponsored by Fondation Valmont.

a Father and his Son

Maxence started his career as a volunteer. After an experience in Asia, then another in Africa, he continued his studies in the footsteps of his father in the legal field.

In January 2022, Maxence Guillon officially became the new President of Fondation Valmont, succeeding his father, Didier Guillon. After completing his law studies, Maxence pursued a Master’s Degree in Business Management in Madrid. His passion for exploration and human connection led him to participate in humanitarian missions, including work with the WWF in Thailand and Raleigh in Tanzania.

Like his father, Maxence was immersed in the art world from a young age, developing his instincts and refining his artistic vision over the years. This father-son dynamic has evolved into a rich intergenerational exchange, where they complement and challenge each other in discovering new artists and envisioning the future. With Maxence’s background and keen interest in digital innovation, he is well-positioned to steer Fondation Valmont toward new opportunities, addressing challenges such as the digitization of art and expanding its accessibility.

The bond between Maxence and Didier is one of profound respect and shared passion. As the founder of Fondation Valmont, Didier has been a guiding influence, shaping Maxence’s values and fostering his deep appreciation for the arts. Their collaboration on exhibitions such as Ulysses (2024) and Telemachus (2025) reflects their shared creative vision and the strength of their partnership.

At the heart of their relationship lies a strong sense of family. Didier has always emphasized principles of integrity, respect, and generosity—values that Maxence embodies both personally and professionally. Together, they represent the essence of a father-son bond built on shared ideals, artistic passion, and mutual support.
Maxence and Didier launched the D&M Art Fund, an initiative to support emerging artists and make art more accessible. This new endeavor ensures that Fondation Valmont continues to evolve, offering a platform for constant artistic renewal.

Fondation Valmont has a very precise mission: promoting art in all its forms, in accordance with the values and opportunities offered by Valmont – its parent company: quality, aesthetics, generosity and sustainability.

Valmont Chairman Didier Guillon has always refused to remain trapped in the universe of cosmetics alone, and has therefore built bridges with the artistic sector, giving birth to the motto: When Art meets Beauty Guillon’s efforts were crowned with success in 2015, when the rich depth and scope of the projects led to the birth of Fondation Valmont.

In 2019, this international institution made Venice its permanent home, in a Renaissance palace with delicate rococo decorations: Palazzo Bonvicini, also known as The Intimate Museum.

Alongside the international art events that take place in Venice, Fondation Valmont offers a rich programme of travelling exhibitions presented worldwide at the stores La Maison Valmont, and in other key-locations from Hydra to New York.

Perpetuating an age-old family tradition in a new setting

Fondation Valmont – Didier has built up a collection that can be seen by clients of La Maison Valmont as well as friends within. Influenced by 1960s American minimalism, particularly Sol Lewitt, this collection has grown to include treasured artists such as Jane Lebesque, Quentin Garell and Silvano Rubino.

Didier’s heartfelt artistic fellowship with the Artigas family prompted construction work carried out with Isao in Les Maisons Valmont locations.

Didier Guillon’s most beloved city. Venice, an architectural masterpiece in itself, home to works of some of the greatest artists of all time, has always been recognized as a unique artistic and cultural world heritage site. Résidence Bonvicini opened its doors in autumn 2021above the Palazzo Bonvicini where art and culture can be enjoyed constantly.

White stone buildings with blue shutters sit on a rocky hillside under a clear blue sky, reminiscent of a charming villa. Stone walls and a narrow path lead to the houses, surrounded by Hydras rocky terrain and sparse vegetation.

From Leonard Cohen to Sophia Loren, a hidden gem where artists from the world over came to walk the stone paths of this historical, culturally vibrant island located in the Aegean Sea. The Guillon Family couldn’t have chosen a better location for Villa Valentine as the embodiment of art, history and emotion. We step back in time when embarking on this blissful journey, the definition of luxury at its finest.

Ornate three-story Casa Maxence, with decorative moldings and arched windows, is surrounded by a tall hedge and wrought-iron gate. This Barcelona gem features classical architectural details illuminated by soft daylight against clear skies.

Exploring Barcelona’s colorful universe, Casa Maxence opened its doors in 2023 in this vibrant city that has always been successful in striking a perfect balance between its rich past and pioneering present, while continuing to maintain its status as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.

Nestled among pine trees, the snow-covered village of Verbier charms with its wooden chalets like Chalet Capucine. Majestic peaks and fluffy clouds frame the background under a clear blue sky, crafting a serene and picturesque winter landscape.

Chalet Capucine, in Verbier, the first residence to open its doors in the winter of 2020, offers a magnificent view of the Swiss Alps and the summit of Le Grand Combin. The eclectic décor features contemporary and African works of art illuminating its wooden interior.
