Jakub Flejšar for Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics Games

06.02.2026-15.03.2026

From Venice to Milan in a Snowboard Leap

Czech artist Jakub Flejšar, former snowboard coach of Olympic and world champion Eva Samková, will be a constant presence during the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics; this time, however, as an artist. February 6 to March 15, 2026, will exhibit four large-scale works, a temporary land art intervention across Milan’s urban landscape.

Fondation Valmont plays a central role in Flejšar’s Milan presentation. His trio of sculptures — Self Transformation — was previously shown at Palazzo Bonvicini in Venice as part of the group exhibition Telemachus. The Quest for Self, organised and supported by Fondation Valmont. These three works form a series of self‑portraits, each reflecting a key stage in the artist’s personal evolution.

As part of the Milan program, Flejšar will exhibit a giant hockey player sculpture at the Czech Olympic House, while the Self Transformation trio will be presented at the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Milan and the Czech Centre in Milan.
